Beard Growing Contest

The Rodeo Killeen Committee and lead sponsor of Rodeo Killeen, Toyota of Killeen, are sponsoring a Beard Growing Contest that will be held on Saturday, May 30th at Toyota of Killeen during their Rodeo Sale-A-Bration! The Beard Growing Contest will take place at 2 PM and the winner of each category will be awarded a $100 Cash Prize and 4 Rodeo Tickets for one night of Rodeo Killeen, June 4th, 5th or 6th.

Winners will be presented with their prizes at the Rodeo on Friday night, June 5th during the pre-show at 7:30 pm.

Contest categories are as follows:

Best Overall Beard $ 100 and 4 Rodeo Tickets
*Best New Beard from Scratch $ 100 and 4 Rodeo Tickets

*Best New Beard entries must come to Toyota of Killeen on Friday May 1st or Saturday, May 2nd CLEAN SHAVEN for a picture. On the day of judging, May 30th at 2 PM, contestants pictures will be compared with their finished beards and a winner will be chosen by our judges!

Best Overall Beard contestants may enter with an existing beard and no picture is required. Just be at Toyota of Killeen on May 30th at 2 PM for judging!

Judging Criteria

1. Length (25%)
2. Fullness (25%)
3. Style and Sophistication (25%)
4. General Manliness (25%)

Judges will award from 1-10 points in each of the above categories. The contestants with the most total points in each of the four categories will win a grand prize and be awarded- 2009 RODEO KILLEEN’S BEST OVERALL BEARD and 2009 RODEO KILLEEN’S BEST NEW BEARD FROM SCRATCH.

Deana Wilkes, CTC Rodeo Club Sponsor and Rodeo Killeen Committee
Deborah Lackey, KWTX Marketing Representative and Rodeo Killeen Committee
